my astrology approach.

I use a combination of traditional and modern astrological techniques. My approach is influenced by the traditions and teachings of ancient astrology, tailored to the realities of the contemporary era. This means:

  • I use whole sign houses. The Whole Sign system places the sign of the ascendant on the cusp of the first house, with each subsequent sign on the cusp of each house.

    • Example: If you are a Cancer Rising, regardless of the degree of the Ascendant, Cancer = 1st House, Leo = 2nd House, and so on throughout the chart.

  • I use traditional rulerships of signs. I do not include the outer planets (Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto) as rulers of signs. Instead, I incorporate Chiron and the outer planets as they influence the seven traditional planets, especially by aspect.

  • My astrology is queer and trauma-informed. I do not use traditional gender stereotypes of signs or planets in my astrology. The gender binary is an outdated concept that does not have a home in my astrological practice. I also do not believe that astrology justifies negative circumstances in life. Astrology is a lens through which we can look at traumatic or “negative” events to find a sense of clarity on situations over which we have no control. Astrology cannot excuse nor undo any injustice. However, by understanding what was going on in the cosmos at the time of our darkest moments, there is potential for new sources of light. Please let me know if there are any subjects you would specifically like to (or not to) address during our time together.

Astrology is a tool for self-discovery and self-acceptance. But more than anything, it is a language.

In an astrological consultation, we will work through dialogue to help you understand more about your experience in this life, and the ways you can constructively utilize your natal gifts to fulfill your desires, dreams, and purpose. By working with the gifts (and challenges!) presented to you in your natal chart, you can go deeper into the why, when, and how of your life.

A reading with me is a conversation. Please come prepared to dialogue with any questions, goals, or issues you’d like to discuss during our session. You get out what you put in.
